How it works

1 video becomes many private copies. A leak points to 1.

SealCopy sends your confidential video to each person as their own marked copy. If a clip leaks, you upload it, we read the mark, and we tell you which copy it came from.

How SealCopy works, in 4 steps

This is leak tracing for video. You do the first step. We do the rest. Each person who watches gets a copy made only for them, so a leaked clip can be matched to 1 copy instead of to a whole room of people.

  1. Upload once, choose who may watch

You add the video and the list of people. You can set when the links stop working.

  2. Everyone gets their own link and copy

Each person receives a private link. Behind it is a copy made for them alone. Nobody needs an app or an account.

  3. A code at the door

Before anyone can watch, they enter a code sent to their email or phone. Or they sign in with your company sign-in.

  4. If it leaks, upload the clip

You give us the leaked clip. We read the mark and show you the case: which copy it was, and the trail around it.

What is marked on each copy?

Every copy carries 2 marks. This is a per-viewer video watermark, made of 2 parts.

The name on screen

The viewer's name moves across the picture. Everyone can see it. It makes people think twice before they film the screen. You can turn it off.

The hidden mark

A second mark is built into the picture itself. You cannot see it. It is not a layer on top, so covering the name, cropping or trimming the clip does not remove it.

Why both

The name on screen deters. The hidden mark proves whose copy it was. If someone hides the name, the hidden mark is still there. For a plain-English look at the idea, read forensic watermarking explained.

What you get when a video leaks

You get a case report. It answers 4 questions.

  • Which copy. The copy the clip came from.
  • Issued to whom. The person that copy was made for.
  • How sure we are. We give one of 3 answers, shown below.
  • The trail. Sign-in, device, network and time for that copy.

You can export the report as a PDF. It is made to be read by people who were not in the room: your security lead, your lawyer, your chief executive.

How sure we are

  • Strong. We read the mark clearly and it matches one copy.
  • Likely. We read most of the mark. One copy fits best, but the clip is not perfect.
  • Unreadable. The clip is too damaged for us to read a mark. We say so, and we do not guess.

For the steps after a leak, see how to find out who leaked a video.

What does it not show?

The mark shows whose copy leaked. It does not show who held the phone, or why.

A person's account can be shared. It can also be hacked. That is why we log the trail for every copy. When several clues agree, such as sign-in, device, network and time, they make the strongest case.

We give you evidence, not a verdict. If you plan to act on a leak, speak to your own lawyer first.

It works beside your tools

Keep the video analysis tool you already use. Export the video from it, then send it through SealCopy.

SealCopy never edits your video. It does not replace your tools. It sits at the last step, when the video leaves your hands. Your team keeps working the way it works today. Only the way you share the finished video changes.

Clubs use this for transfers, tactics and contract talks. See how SealCopy helps sport clubs. For how the video and the people are protected, read how SealCopy keeps video safe.
